Finding a relationship to the natural world and capturing earth’s beauty are my inspiration.   I paint to share that connection with others.  Being creative is my soul searching for a new experience and out of that a fresh way of seeing is liberated.  Throughout the painting process my challenge is to let go of my inner critique, release the unexpected and welcoming it with an open mind.   When I paint with juicy, glorious colors, connected by shapes and organic textures, I feel truly alive with energy and joyful hope.

My process begins by letting my emotions and senses of the day determine the direction of each painting.  Multiple layers of colors and textures create a depth and transparency that open up my connection with the subject.  While abstracting that subject allows the playfulness to come through.  The process of painting is fluid like water yet three-dimensional like nature with crevices and organic textures that continually challenge me.  In the end, my interpretation and self-expression reflect the energy and beauty of the earth.

I am currently seeking a Masters of Fine Arts at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco and  formed an Art group in Nashville, TN called In.FORM.ALL Art Movement.  We are planning multiple shows throughout the year.  We meet regularly to inspire each other in our artistic path. Having a sense of community and connectivity to the world is what I seek through creating and helping others to pursue their passion for creativity.

My Husband Craig and I have two children, Colin (6) and Rachel (4).  We spend our time chasing our children around and love to go camping, sailing, biking and running!  Did I mention that I LOVE to read!!  I can't buy enough books......my obsession, especially art books!

My big dream is to own an art studio with a
co-operative gallery, artist studio space for me and
all my artsy friends to come and play and
classrooms to teach adults and children!
